The federal government via the Larger Training Loans Board (HELB) sponsors college students for various tertiary programs.

For college students who scored C+ and above within the Kenya Certificates of Secondary Training (KCSE) examination, the Kenya Universities and Faculties Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), locations them in 545 undergraduate diploma packages.

Those that rating C plain and C-, are eligible to be sponsored for 217 diploma programs in public schools and Technical and Vocational Training and Coaching (TVET) establishments.

College students who attain D plain and D+, are eligible for 112 certificates programs whereas those that rating beneath D plain are eligible for sponsorship in 145 artisan packages.
